We built Hexio
because we needed it
ourselves.

It isn't your usual SaaS with a pitch deck. It's an intranet we started building for our two studios — and which today we open to customers because we weren't the only ones who needed it.

From spreadsheets to product.

01 2018 — 2022

Subscription chaos.

We were paying a subscription for everything: Holded for invoicing, Factorial for HR, Notion for documentation, Calendly for scheduling, Asana for tasks, Toggl for hours, Mailchimp for newsletters… and a thousand more.

Each tool did its part — and nothing talked to anything. Six logins each morning, manual exports and crossed spreadsheets to know where you stood with a client. Costs climbed; so did the chaos.

02 2023

"What if we built it ourselves?"

Damos en el Blanco and Núvol Digital had collaborated on client projects before. One day we did the maths: the sum of all subscriptions was eye-watering — and not one tool fit us 100%. We decided to build it ourselves: a shared intranet for our two teams.

Accounting, projects, time-tracking, HR, internal knowledge. It wasn't a product. It was an in-house tool built the way we wanted — and it worked. Too well to keep to ourselves.

03 2025 — 2026

"Can I have the same tool?"

Three different customers asked us almost at the same time. An accounting firm, a consultancy and a school. That same month we decided to turn the in-house intranet into a product.

That's where Hexio came from: not from a pitch, but from a real tool, in production since 2023, that we now make available to the customers who ask for it.

Who builds it

Two Catalan companies. One tool.

Hexio is a balanced partnership: product, design and frontend live with Damos en el Blanco; backend, infra and AI live with Núvol Digital. No dependencies, no juniors.

A creative-impact and technology agency based in Barcelona, led by Humbert Blanco. Works on branding, web, audiovisual and digital management for brands, organisations and people. At Hexio, they bring the design, visual identity, design system and product front end: the public website, the documentation and the screens the end customer sees.

Núvol Digital S.L.

A Catalan firm specialising in cloud solutions, digital transformation and applied artificial intelligence — finalists in the GovTech Catalunya contest with the CERCAT project. Led by Pau Riba. At Hexio, they bring server robustness, security, the connectors (PSD2 banking, AEAT, Verifactu), the multi-tenant database and the entire AI stack that powers Demana (Ask), Automations and Scanner.

Four principles we won't compromise on.

These are the calls we made on day one and still hold to. If we ever stop honouring them, you should call us out.

Open source where it makes sense

Generic libraries, tools and modules ship under LGPL/AGPL-friendly licences. The product layer itself is closed, but the ecosystem around it belongs to everyone.

The data is the customer's

Always. Exportable in standard formats (CSV, JSON, PDF) without going through our sales team. If you want to leave, you take it with you.

European hosting, no excuses

Servers at OVH and Hetzner (France and Germany). Never outside the EU. GDPR by default, not as a sales checkbox.

No lock-in

You can leave with your data in CSV/JSON whenever you want. No penalty, no permission to ask for. Our job is for you to stay because the tool serves you, not because you're stuck.

Where we work

In Catalonia, with a distributed team.

Damos en el Blanco is based in Barcelona. Núvol Digital, in Vic. The rest of the team is distributed across Catalonia and the Mediterranean coast.

We work with customers in English, Catalan and Spanish. The Hexio interface is available in all three languages (and French is on the way). If you need support at a specific time, we'll send a calendar with our available slots.
